Man Nichijou has such good openings. But when it comes to the Monogatari series, I prefer the Nisemonogatari openings. Black Lagoon used to have one of my favorite openings, until I realized that it was all in English. Shitty, shitty English.

Really though Japanese singing probably shouldn't be sung by flat toned English singers. I mean if the voice fit somehow and the tones aligned then maybe but that's a rare sight to see so I'd agree for the most part.

No the singers are Japanese, but they are singing in English.

Well thing is some Japanese singers still sound English from their fluidity and the effects are just the same.

Yes but the singer I was referencing in Black Lagoon is just really really bad at English.

Well then if they can't even do something bad correctly that probably warrants something being really bad in the first place.

The thing is it's a pretty cool song, I really liked it until I realized she was actually *trying* to sing in English. I recommend you go listen to it, you'll see what I mean.

Realize I'm late to the conversation here, but I like listening to foreigners singing in English. Yes, it sounds horrible, but it has this weird effect where the words are familiar but not quite. It's a bizarre opinion but there it is.

Anywho, the best anime opening is obviously Cowboy Bebop's.

I'll make sure to sing you some songs then, Fisk.

I mean, it's really good, even to this day it's up there, but I think it has been topped.

But I would like to just push this thread in a slightly different direction for just a little while. I want to see if you guys have any anime openings that you liked more than the show itself. For example I think Guilty Crown has godtier openings but that the show itself is mediocre. Mirai Nikki had such a good first opening that it made me watch the show after I stumbled across the opening. Even if I didn't think the show was that good in the end.
