  1. A species, against which special precautions should be taken, known as ghouls, are distinct in that it is confirmed that they can produce kakugan and kagune.

  2. In relation to the subjects distinguished as ghouls, there are no laws that protect these individuals.

The Intro

Welcome to the world of Tokyo Ghoul. A place of horrid atrocities, bloody tragedies, extreme and brilliant villainy, murderous intent, ungodly torture and torment, unbelievable cruelty, and general unkindness. Because I am such an avid fan of anything that might be considered 'power fantasy', Tokyo Ghoul is right up my alley and I think that it makes an amazing setting for an RP.

I imagine that this RP will become sort of a faction v faction RP - the factions being the ghouls and the CCG operatives. Of course, that's just how I'm thinking it will play out; if you want to be factionless and neutral, that's fine. That being said, I would suggest that everyone wanting to join make two characters, one a ghoul and one a dove, to make the most out of this RP. That's not a rule or anything, just a suggestion. If you join the CCG, your job will be to hunt down all active ghouls and destroy or capture them by any means necessary. If you play as a ghoul, you will eventually have to consume human or ghoul flesh.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

The Setting

Tokyo Ghoul takes place in Tokyo, Japan. In this world, Tokyo is inhabited by both regular humans and ghouls. There won't be any mention of any characters, groups, or places from the original series aside from the CCG. Ghouls are creatures that are like humans in every way except for certain special attributes and a diet that consists of only human flesh. Because of their diet and power, ghouls are feared by humans as their only known predator.

The only organization that stands against the ghouls are the CCG, the Commission of Counter Ghoul. A federal agency that serves as a criminal investigative body in cases connected to ghouls. The CCG operatives are known as Ghoul Investigators or doves, as they are commonly called by the ghouls.

There are also ghouls that attempt to live peacefully alongside humans. They gather flesh from corpses for food and sometimes have human companions who know their secret. These ghouls are not treated any differently by the CCG and the general population however.

Tokyo is divided into 24 special wards. Twenty-three of them are above ground, but the 24th Ward is underground and presumably runs throughout most of the city in a network of underground tunnels. Click here for a map.

The Story

Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains will take place in the 9th special ward of Tokyo. The 9th Ward has always been a peaceful place in Tokyo. It has a lower population of ghouls than most of the other wards in Tokyo; the CCG speculates that this is due to a small group of powerful ghouls controlling their population.

However, in recent months there has been a sudden spike of extremely gruesome murders believed to have been perpetrated by one or many ghouls. Because of this, the Commission of Counter Ghoul has decided to deploy several Ghoul Investigators to the ward for the first time in a decade.

Ghouls

Ghouls are a carnivorous and cannibalistic species that is only able to feed on humans and other ghouls. They are as close to humans as possible: They normally have the same physical appearance and intelligence as a human with the exception of diet and inner biology. Ghouls can only consume human or ghoul flesh, water, and, strangely, coffee.

A one-eyed ghoul is a human-ghoul-hybrid. These ghouls have one kakugan rather than two. Most ghouls treat their existence as an urban legend or have never heard of their existence at all. They are usually more powerful than regular ghouls. They can exist if certain rare conditions are met. If a human female elopes with a male ghoul and becomes pregnant, the pregnancy can result in a one-eyed ghoul if the human female consumes human flesh for the duration of the pregnancy. Also, if a ghoul's organs are transplanted into a human, a one-eyed ghoul may become the result. One-eyed ghouls also share the same diet as regular ghouls.

There are certain attributes and abilities that are special to ghouls:

Kakugan: Click. Click. And click. A Kakugan denotes a ghoul's eye where the pupil turns red and the sclera black. The ghoul can enter this state by their own will, but this state is also entered when the ghoul becomes excited or when they use one of their special abilities. Kakugan are the result of using Rc cells.

Rc cells: Click. And click.Rc cells ("Red Child" Cells) are certain cells that exist only in the story of Tokyo Ghoul. The origin of the name comes from how each individual cell looks like a curled up fetus. They exist in both humans and ghouls. They flow like blood but can become as solid as teeth, and could be called "liquid muscles". Typically, a ghoul stocks Rc cells by eating people. Within the body, the Rc cells are concentrated and stored in a kakuhou. The kagune is formed by Rc cells that have been released from a kakuhou and have pierced through the skin.

Kakuhou: A kakuhou is a sack-like organ that is only present in ghouls. The purpose of the kakuhou is to store Rc cells. The Rc cells contained in the nutrition are absorbed by the ghoul. These cells are transported to the kakuhou in the blood and stored in there.

The Rc cells can be released from the kakuhou piercing the skin either consciously or due to excitement. These released cells form the kagune. The kakuhou of a ghoul is used to build quinques. A ghoul can have more than one kakuhou.

Kagune: Click. A Kagune is a ghoul's predatory organ and functions as their weapon and claws. It is usually as red as blood; and flexible like the flow of water, but firm and sturdy. When released, a ghoul's physique is strengthened, they are more resilient and their mobility heightens. A kagune is composed of Rc cells, which flow just like blood, can become as solid as teeth and can be described as "liquid muscles". The Rc cells are released from a kakuhou piercing the skin, and the released Rc cells form the kagune. A kagune can be repeatedly hardened and softened at will by the ghoul.

Although a ghoul's healing ability is high, the healing of wounds tends to be delayed if the wounds are inflicted by a kagune. It is also evident that in order to counter a kagune in battle, one must also have a kagune, if not, at least something in relation to a kagune. Hence, Ghoul Investigators use kagune-based quinque as a tactical means to battle against ghouls. Also it seems that the kagune are involuntary muscles as ghouls can control them whenever they want. There are four types of kagune.

  • Ukaku: Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. And click. An Ukaku kagune is spread out like feathers and is released from the shoulder area. The kagune is lightweight and can be used to deliver high-speed attacks against an adversary. The kagune is suited both for short-distance and long-distance attacks. Altogether, ukaku-type ghouls have a high chance to end the battle after a short time.

However, releasing the Rc cells extremely decreases stamina. Thus, ukaku-type users lack endurance and are at a disadvantage if the battle drags on for a long time.

Ukaku kagune can use their speed and mobility to shoot down a Bikaku-type user. However, a koukaku-type user can surprise an ukaku-type user by successfully guarding against the ukaku-type user's attacks, leaving the Ukaku vulnerable to counterattacks and exhausting the ukaku-type user in the long run.

  • Koukaku: Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. And click. A Koukaku kagune is metallic and released below the shoulder blade. This is achieved by a high density of Rc cells. It is heavy and extremely robust. Of all the kagunes, they have the greatest sturdiness and are especially suited for defense. Normally, they are generally shaped into armors or shields. But on the offense, they can be shaped like melee weapons such as drills, hammers or blades.

Due to its high weight, a koukaku's speed is inferior to all other kagunes and the kagune is hard to wield.

A koukaku can fend off an ukaku onslaught using its guarding capabilities. However, a rinkaku kagune can deliver severe strikes against the slow koukaku, breaking their kagune and breaching their defenses.

  • Rinkaku: Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. And click. A Rinkaku kagune has an appearance similar to scaled tentacles and is released at the back around the waist. A rinkaku has powerful regenerative abilities and its peculiar appearance and structure yield a superior striking power. A rinkaku excels in brute strength.

This type's regenerative power is a result of the Rc cells easily binding together. Their Rc cells are more similar to liquids. However, this means that the binding force among the Rc cells must be weak, therefore making the kagune very brittle.

A rinkaku kagune can deliver severe strikes against the slow koukaku, penetrating the kagune and breaching the koukaku's defenses. However, a rinkaku has serious problems to fight against the balanced bikaku kagune: A bikaku has comprehensively high power, allowing them to fight against the brute-force rinkaku, and the rinkaku kagune's brittleness makes it comparatively easy for the bikaku to cut the kagune off. This disarms a rinkaku no matter how much strength it may possess, leaving the rinkaku at a disadvantage on the defensive.

  • Bikaku: Click. Click. Click. Click. And click. A Bikaku kagune typically has a tail-like appearance and is released around the tail-bone/coccyx. It is good for medium-distance attacks and has decent offense, defense and speed. Thus, they have no notable strengths or weaknesses like the kagune based on other Rc types, meaning the kagune itself is treated as a surprise "trump card."

A bikaku has better speed and durability against the brute-force, brittle rinkaku, allowing them to cut off the rinkaku's kagune. However, a bikaku will be overwhelmed by the faster ukaku user and will lose against the ukaku's long-range attacks.

The balanced characteristics makes the kagune a preferred quinque type for investigators.

  • Dual Kagune: Click. And click. Some ghouls, very few and extremely rare, are born with two of the four kagune-types. One kagune may be inherited from one parent, while another may be inherited from the other parent.

The RPS+1 Rule: Click. And click. The Rock, Paper, Scissors Plus One Rule. Usually, a particular kagune-type is vulnerable against another kagune-type. Simply put: Ukaku beats Bikaku, Bikaku beats Rinkaku, Rinkaku beats Koukaku, and Koukaku beats Ukaku.

Kakuja and Half-Kakuja: Click. Click. Click. And click. It is said that through cannibalism of other ghouls, a ghoul absorbs Rc cells, and this uptake of Rc cells increases their concentration within a ghoul's body. If the concentration becomes high enough, it may trigger a mutation within the cells and lead to the formation of a new kagune.

Apart from the predatory kagune ghouls commonly possess, a kakuja has a special kagune that clads the ghoul's body and functions like an armour. The kagune amplifies the kakuja's strength or diversifies his abilities, which makes a fight against one of them especially hard.

However, using a kakuja kagune is nearly impossible because most users tend to lose their minds while fighting with it. It is unknown why some ghouls are able to remain sane and others are not. One reason may be that all unstable/insane ghouls using kakuja are half/incomplete as full kakuja aren't observed to have any problems maintaining control.

Masks: Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. And click. Masks are worn by ghouls to protect their identities as 'humans' from being discovered by the CCG.

Alias: Aliases are usually given by the CCG upon the CCG's first encounter with the ghoul. Aliases are usually derived from the ghoul's physical appearance, the appearance of their kagune, and the appearance of their mask.

Ranking system as given by the CCG:

  • SS-Rated: // Kakuja and Lords // These are reserved for highly dangerous Kakuja Ghouls or Ghouls that have an extreme or high number of kills against the CCG. For the most part, any ghoul at this stage is to be engaged with extreme caution only by veteran investigators or in large groups.

  • S-Rated: // Powerful and Active Ghouls // Ghouls at this level are extremely dangerous and proper precautions should be employed when facing them. This rank goes beyond influence and power. Ghouls assigned to an S-class represent an enormous threat to both ordinary investigators and citizenry for reasons that are above membership in an organization and personal combat skills. They are cunning and able to survive for long periods of time underneath CCG radar.

  • A-Rated: // Important or Active Ghouls // This rank is acceded to Ghouls who have achieved a certain level of notoriety to be given status above B-Rank or have been active long enough to merit additional caution.

  • B-C Rated: // Common or Inactive Ghouls // Ghouls can be assigned this rank for any of several reasons: either they have been deemed to pose little threat, they have been inactive for a long period of time, or we are still searching for them and have yet to assign a rating.

Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains GK8gE74
The Ghoul Countermeasures Bureau

The Commission of Counter Ghoul (abbreviation CCG, Ghoul Countermeasures Bureau) is a federal agency in the Tokyo Ghoul series that serves as a criminal investigative body in cases connected to ghouls.
The Ghoul Countermeasures Law is the legal foundation for CCG's prosecution of ghouls. CCG's headquarters are in the 1st Ward. The CCG Laboratory Division, CCG Main Office, Ghoul Investigator Training Academy, and Ghoul Countermeasures Training Center can also be found in the 1st Ward.

The ghouls commonly call the Ghoul Investigators Doves, a nickname that originates from CCG's seal.

The CCG has a collection of special assets that are exclusive to the organization:

Ghoul Investigators:: Ghoul Investigator, employed at CCG's main office, carry out the actual investigations and capture suspects. They are often assigned to carry out investigations in one of Tokyo's wards. Only ghoul investigators are permitted to be armed with quinques.

Bureau Investigators: Bureau Investigator deal mostly with paperwork and back up ghoul investigators when necessary. Most of them are employed at CCG's branch offices. They are armed with firearms loaded with Q bullets.

Quinque: Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. Click. And click.  A Quinque is a weapon that is fashioned from a ghoul's kagune. Manufactured from a ghoul's kakuhou, the quinque emits electrical signals that stimulate the kakuhou to release and control the kagune. The quinque can be made into various shapes like axes, guns, shields or blades to a degree, but most still retain some characteristics of the original kagune. Another difference between a quinque and a kagune is that former unlike the latter cannot change its shape nor store or absorb anymore Rc Cells other then was harvested from the ghoul it was made from.

In rare cases, a quinque can also be fused from two kagune.

Only CCG's rank 2 ghoul investigators and up are permitted to use quinques. The ghoul investigators transport them in bags or suitcases.

  • Arata armor: Click. And click. The quinque takes on the appearance of an armor suit and heightens the user's physical and defensive abilities. The quinque's trump card is to "eat" the user. In exchange the user will attain even greater physical capabilities that are on par with ghouls. However this places a great strain on the body if used for too long and the armor could consume the user from within. The usage of the quinque by Special Class Investigators is proof of Arata's strength. The armor was harvested from a certain powerful kakuja.

Q bullets: Q bullets are the bullets used in bureau investigators' firearms. Unlike quinques, they are not fully made with kagune materials but a certain proportion.

Quinx: Click. Click. And click. A Quinx is a human with a modified Quinque installed in their body. Because this resembles a normal Kagune, they are commonly mistaken for ghouls and half ghouls.

Quinx are similar to one-eyed ghouls because they only develop one kakugan, in contrast to normal ghouls who develop kakugans in both eyes, but they have a grey schlera instead of a black schlera. It is unknown if this is because of RC suppressants. Quinx can digest human food and they do not crave human flesh, unlike half ghouls and normal ghouls do. Even so, it is shown that devouring human flesh still increases the overall power and stamina of a Quinx.

The kakuhou installed into their body is modified through a process similar to the method used to create Quinques, believed to make them safer. This method involves coating the organ in Quinque Steel, and then implanting it with a special system of "Frames" to regulate function. There are a total of five frames, with each subsequent Frame increasing or decreasing the potential output of the kakuhou by 20%. This process has not only limited the potential strength of the kagune, but restricted its form when compared to the highly-adaptable kagune used by normal Ghouls.

CCG Ranking System: Special Class > Associate Special Class > First Class > Rank 1 > Rank 2 > Rank 3

Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains Empty Re: Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains

Post by Mr. Fountain Sun Jan 18, 2015 2:47 am

Name: Kaku Yamarachi

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Rank: First Class Ghoul Investigator

Personality: First Class Investigator Kaku Yamarachi has an extremely professional air about him. He tries to stay as close to the book as possible, but if required to save a life or make a great deal of progress in a case, he will go against the rules. Yamarachi has a learned hatred for ghouls due to years of being taught how to fight against them. He is usually very serious and can easily be described as a workaholic, but he tries to have a lighthearted attitude around his subordinates. He is a born leader of men and an experienced mentor. He has no other desires aside from effectively closing whichever case he is assigned to.

Background Information: Kaku Yamarachi was born to parents Kazuo and Asami Yamarachi, both Associate Special Class Ghoul Investigators. Kaku was inducted into the Ghoul Investigator Training Academy at a young age. Being the son of two higher-class investigators, great things were expected from him and he excelled in all areas of study during his time at the academy. He generally tried to make his parents proud of him as a child.

When Yamarachi was 12 years old, both of his parents took place in an expedition into the 24th Ward to help map out the underground as well as take part in a "whack-a-mole" operation there. Upon encountering an SS-Ranked ghoul previously unknown to the CCG, a fight ensued and both of Kaku's parents lost their lives in the line of duty. Two years later, this ghoul was successfully defeated during another expedition into the 24th Ward.

The deaths of his parents was a devastating blow to the young Yamarachi, but it only furthered his resolve to become a Ghoul Investigator. Kaku managed to graduate from the academy at the age of 16 and was put under the mentorship of a family friend and First Class Investigator for two years during which he was promoted to Rank 2. Upon promotion, Yamarachi was finally given ownership of his own quinque. Four more years later, Yamarachi was promoted again solving three more cases to Rank 1 Ghoul Investigator.

Rank 1 Ghoul Investigator Yamarachi went on to successfully solve five more ghoul-related cases alongside his partner before the Knight Case. The Knight Case concerned a certain S-Ranked ghoul known as Knight (due to the appearance of his kagune and the fact that he wore a mask that resembled a medieval helmet) who had begun to exclusively attack CCG personnel within the 4th Ward. Investigator Yamarachi managed to analyze the ghoul's pattern of attacks and placed himself in position as Knight's next target. A battle of epic proportion ensued between the two combatants which resulted in Yamarachi's victory. Yamarachi was promoted to First Class and had the defeated ghoul's kagune made into his new quinque.

Description of quinque:

  • Knight 1/2: A koukaku-type quinque harvested from the kakuhou under the left shoulder blade of the S-Ranked ghoul known as Knight. This quinque takes the form of a red and black rectangular shield that can expand to a certain degree at the cost of the shield's density and integrity. In combat, Kaku holds onto the grip and braces the back of the shield against his forearm. Kaku only carries this quinque when he believes that he is going into a battle. This quinque is contained within a metallic briefcase typical to what most quinques are carried in; Yamarachi will carry this quinque in his left hand while it is 'sheathed'.

  • Knight 2/2: Click here. A koukaku-type quinque harvested from the kakuhou under the right shoulder blade of the S-Ranked ghoul known as Knight. This quinque takes the form of a red and black long-blade, two and a half feet in length, with a bare grip. Yamarachi will typically wield Knight 2/2 in his right hand with Knight 1/2 in his left, but if Knight 1/2 is not present, he will fight with his sword in both hands. While sheathed in a metallic briefcase, Yamarachi will carry this quinque in his right hand.

Other weapons and skills: In order to wield two heavy koukaku-type quinques, Yamarachi must keep himself very fit and work out often. First Class Kaku Yamarachi carries with him at all times a loaded SIG Sauer P220 under his suit jacket along with three extra magazines of Q-bullets. Yamarachi is more than proficient with this weapon.

Appearance and physical description: Click here for image.
Yamarachi stands at about 5'10".

Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains Empty Re: Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains

Post by Fi Skirata Mon Jan 19, 2015 3:29 am

Name: Tsudzuku "Suzu" Ushiro

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Rank: Rank 1 Ghoul Investigator.

Personality: A focused and work oriented individual. Idolized Kaku and has to some extent attempted to mirror his personality as closely as possible. He has relatively little field experience in his work, but extensive theoretical knowledge, and absorbs information at an alarming rate. Sees Ghoul elimination as no different than exterminating rodents. Maintains a cold and efficient facade both in and out of combat. Ushiro's calm veneer can crack when his attention is drawn to his inferiority or to mistakes he has made. Secretly houses an inferiority complex, especially towards Kaku, and lacks real mental stability.

Background Information: at the age of 14, Ushiro's parents, both Investigators for the CCG, were targeted and eliminated by A-Class Ghoul Musashi, a serial murderer who specifically targeted the CCG. With no immediate family or real inheritance, the boy was taken in as a ward of the CCG, and immediately put into the academy. Initially a problem student with no motivation he was frequently called "Suzu" even by instructors due to his dramatic emotional issues after his parents' death.

Eventually an instructor pulled him aside and pointed to one Kaku Yamarachi as a role model. Even though Kaku had a near identical traumatic past, he turned his devastation into motivation and became a model student, graduating before Tsudzuku had even begun to muster up passing grades. After that talk, Tsudzuku began to near idol-worship Kaku, and turned his act around. He took a professional and motivated air, and was even able to graduate on time despite his abysmal early record.

After graduation and being instated as a Rank 2 investigator with flying colors, Ushiro was denied access to a Quinque, and dispatched to Ward 4, a peaceful ward, and partnered to First Class Investigator Kuro Akihiko. Kuro had specifically requested all this, and was a friend to Tsudzuku's parent's Akihiko purposely had him put in a non-combat position as his partner, looking to protect him. Tsudzuku was incredibly frustrated with this and spent years with little but busy work, despite all the training he had worked so hard at. The relationship between partners became strained and Akihiko was eventually re-assigned to assist an investigation into a potential Musashi sighting.

Akihiko was reported K.I.A. less than a week later. Ushiro immediately sent in a request to be assigned to hunt Musashi, and was repeatedly denied. Ushiro made a follow up request to go to Akihiko's last known position on a non-combat assignment to retrieve Akihiko's Quinque. Command reluctantly allowed it, on the strict condition that Ushiro would not engage in combat unless attacked first, and was not to seek out conflict with the A-Class Ghoul.

The Quinque was left in the open, at the exact last known position of it's wielder. It was clearly a trap. Ushiro, who had wanted the conflict to begin with, purposely took his partner's Quinque regardless, and was attacked by Musashi. The ghoul was a psychotic, entirely obsessed with his own abilities, and completely convinced it could defeat any CCG member in single combat. Ushiro won a decisive victory over the Ghoul against all odds, but Akihiko's Rinkaku Quinque was destroyed. Ushiro returned with the remains of the A-Class, and was promoted to Rank 1 and granted his Quinque, However, despite his remarkable combat ability despite lack of experience, it was deemed he had still disobeyed orders, and he was assigned as Kaku Yamarachi's partner, with the higher ups deeming that Kaku's professionalism would wear off on Tsudzuku.

Description of quinque:

  • Musashi 1+2/2: Click. Two koukaku-type quinque harvested from the kakuhou under the shoulder blades of the A-Class Ghoul designated Musashi. These Quinque take the form of a pair of simple 2-foot, hiltless, black and red eastern blades with grooved grips. Ushiro wields Musashi 1/2 in his dominant left hand, and Musashi 2/2 in his right. These Quinque are contained in a single, elongated case, with an additional handle next to the first. Tsudzuku is a deadly combatant with these blades, but is notably ineffective without both of the blades.

Other weapons and skills:
In order to wield his Quinque with the grace and speed necessary to be effective in combat Ushiro keeps his body thin and lithe, with wirey muscles capable of moving his form quickly. Rank 1 Tsudzuku Ushiro carries with him at all times a loaded Glock 19 under his suit jacket along with three extra magazines of Q-bullets. Ushiro is also a skilled detective and driver.

Appearance and physical description (pictures are accepted):
Click. Ushiro has notably mirrored his image to match Kaku's with only several differences marking them.

  • Facial structure. Suzu has a more gaunt and pointed face.
  • Body type. Suzu is much thinner than his superior.
  • Height. Suzu is notably shorter.
  • Glasses. Suzu wears half-moon spectacles and, in fact, has no eyesight issues.
  • Choice of hand wear. Suzu wears his graduation ring on his left hand rather than a glove.

Tsudzuku wears, like all ghoul investigators, a suit and tie, and, when on duty, a white overcoat.

Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains Empty Re: Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains

Post by Mr. Fountain Wed Jan 21, 2015 12:59 am

Name: Kokai "Omo" Rohei

Age: 36

Gender: Male

Alias and reason for alias: Due to his dragon-like mask and appearance during combat, Omo is known by the CCG as Ryujin, the name of the mythological dragon god of the seas that could transform into a human shape.

Rank and reason for rank: SS-Rated. Ryujin once was an extremely active ghoul in the 11th Ward and has killed exactly fourteen Ghoul Investigators and thirty-two Bureau Investigators, having actually been confirmed to have feasted on at least one Ghoul Investigator and five Bureau Investigators.

Personality: The only thing Omo desires is a nice place to live his life, and he disdains anything that might endanger his home. He tries to control the 9th Ward so that none of the inhabitants attract the eyes of the CCG; he doesn't want to cause trouble if he doesn't have to, but he will fight to protect what is his. Omo is rather territorial. Because of this, he has developed a calm, apathetic, and authoritative personality. However, he has recently been beginning to develop more emotions, probably from becoming use to having a peaceful place to live for so long. Omo understands that ghouls and humans are the same in many ways, but he is only recently beginning to see humans as something other than a simple food source. Omo is considered a quiet power among his fellow ghouls, and some might even consider him socially awkward around humans. He is more than aware and confident of his own power and abilities. He is the highest authority among the 9th Ward ghouls.

Background Information (as told by Omo): I was born in Tokyo's 11th Ward, the ward which is most heavily populated by ghouls. My parents had been living under the guise of humans for some time before I was even thought of, that is, until the Doves tracked my father down and killed him while he was out hunting one night. That's who I got the tail from, my father. I got the wings from my mother. But, I'm getting ahead of myself. My mother had to flee her home with me still in her womb. Somehow, she found a group of kind ghouls to take us in. If only they hadn't've been homeless.

I was born in the cold sewers beneath Tokyo and raised by a group of vagrants. They became my surrogate family, you could say. The group and my mother hunted for me for the first few years of my childhood. Until, on my twelfth birthday, they decided that it was time for me to start learning how to hunt and fight on my own as well as develop my kagune. It was quite a shock to us all that when I released my kagune, I had two different kinds. Bikaku and koukaku, they told me. That was the only time my mother told me I was special. One in a thousand? Ten-thousand? I never really grasped the reality of how rare it was.

Word spread like wildfire throughout the ghoul underworld, and, all of the sudden, all kinds of ghouls were coming for me. They came for all kinds of reasons, whether it was just to see me, to ask me to join their group, to fight me... to eat me. Whatever it was, my "family" always defended me. I hated them.

I resented my pitiable existence. I resented my family. I resented my mother. We wandered from place to place and never stayed for long. It was sad. They were sad. They were sad, poor, filthy creatures and I hated the fact that I was one of them. I hated sleeping under bridges, in gutters, in alleyways, in condemned buildings, in cemeteries, in old shrines... in the cold. I hated every waking moment of my homeless life. I cared very little for anything. Hell, I might've been envious of humans if it weren't for the fact that hunting them for so long had made me feel numb towards their existence. I wanted to leave.

And so, when a larger group of ghouls than usual approached us and offered a place to live, a warm and better place, to anyone who wanted to go with them, I accepted. I had to accept, you see. I couldn't keep living that pitiful life. The others were too stubborn to leave - too afraid, too worried, too damn simple.

They tried to hold me back, to drag me back to their dreadful lives, them and my mother both. The new group of ghouls just watched on, probably wondering how this would play out. I turned my head back to them and, with black and bloodshot eyes, told them that if they didn't let go, I'd kill them. They let go. I walked over to the other group. That was the last time I ever saw my mother. I was fourteen.

I learned later that this new group that I had joined had a name. The Hanto, they called themselves, a group of ghouls dedicated to waging war against the CCG in the 11th Ward. They were hoping that if their war in the 11th Ward began to go well, other groups of ghouls in other wards would also rise up against the CCG.

They put me on the "front lines," you could say, with all of the other new recruits. They had me attack police and CCG offices, groups of Bureau Investigators, and, eventually, they had me target and attack Ghoul Investigators. I made quite an impression the Doves. They began to fear me. Do you know how that feels? How it feels to have men fear you?

They even gave me a name: Ryujin. The dragon god of the seas that could turn human. The dragon from which the Emperor of Japan descends from. That's what they called me. Do you know how it feels to have a name like that? Do you know how that feels? It feels good. It feels good to have people fear you like that. It makes you feel untouchable. I even switched my mask to a dragon-liked one to further my reputation.

The Hanto recognized my prowess and power as a warrior and promoted me. I was given command over a small group of my own. I quickly proved my brilliance as a leader to the Hanto. The ghouls around me even began to call me Omo. I didn't complain. I felt that it solidified my position within the group. Eventually, the leaders of the Hanto promoted me again and gave me a position in the actual leadership.

After a while, they... we became too powerful for our own good. A state of emergency was declared within the 11th Ward of Tokyo. The CCG came en masse. They attacked every ghoul they could find, used insidious torture to get more information on the group, massacred families and friends, and waged total war on us. They were a veritable army. And so were we. Battles waged on in the city constantly. In the end, half of the Hanto and a third of the leadership were killed off.

They... we decided that we needed more power. We needed more power. More power. More power. More power. Our only and sacred thought during the time. We needed a weapon of mass destruction. We needed a kakuja. And we knew what we had to do to get it.

We knew that the ones to become kakuja were going to have to come from the leaders of the Hanto, no one else could be trusted with that kind of power. There were five of us by then. There were the two oldest among us, Hagashi and Juuto - they were old, bitter, and hateful men, maybe even senile. Then, there was me. And after me, there was a male ghoul who called himself Zo - I liked Zo, he was a sensible and rational kind of person. The newest member of the leadership was a female ghoul by the name of Saika - she was powerful, beautiful, and so young, fifteen or sixteen if I remember correctly.

The group went around and everyone gave their opinions on who should become kakuja. I refused to do it and I refused to give my opinion. I might have condoned the action, but I wanted nothing to do with participating in it. Maybe it was the fact that I had been the desired meal of several ghouls in my past, or maybe it was the taste. In the end, two were selected. Hagashi, because he so fervently volunteered to do it, and Saika, whom I speculate was chosen because they thought that she was expendable.

And so, a new policy of terror was implemented. Join the Hanto or be devoured by their leaders. We attacked and killed so many of our own kind. I imagine that I ended up killing more ghouls than actual CCG operatives. During this whole time, I kept thinking of my mother. I wondered whether she had left the 11th Ward or not...

The unlucky chosen were fed to the unlucky chosen. That's how I saw it. And a couple of weeks into this madness, Hagashi approached the group and proclaimed that he had finally fully developed a kakuja kagune. Juuto demanded that he demonstrate his powers to the Hanto for morale and everyone was gathered at the headquarters of the organization.

The lower members stood around us and on the balconies, while the leaders gathered in the center. Hagashi gave some kind of pompous speech before finally unveiling his kakuja to the whole of the organization. It didn't look quite... right. It looked unfinished. It didn't look complete. It looked like he was still in the process of releasing it. I asked him if this was it or if there was more. Hagashi stood there silently after my question, the top of his face was covered in some kind of fleshy mass and he was breathing heavily.

I was about to say something else when some kind of appendage went flying over my head and stuck itself halfway through Zo's neck, before wrapping back around the man's head and ripping it off completely. All chaos broke loose. The mad kakuja attacked everything and everything attacked it. It just... it shouldn't have been such an even fight.

By the time we had killed Hagashi, several ghouls had already been killed by him. Juuto was enraged. He demanded that Saika devour Hagashi and the bodies in order to better develop her own kakuja, which hadn't formed yet. I stepped in to defend the poor girl and asked Juuto if he was truly mad or not. A whole other fight almost broke before Saika stepped in between us and tried to calm Juuto down by saying that she would think about it, the corpses weren't going anywhere, after all.

The two of them went to their separate places, whether it was to fume or seriously rethink their life. I stood where I was before. My eyes glazing over the large amount of death before me, I began to think about my own life. I asked myself just what I thought I was doing. The Hanto could no longer provide for me what had been promised a dozen years ago. I'd become too caught up, too enraptured, in their ideals - their politics. I had lost sight of what I wanted. There was no safety here. There was no solace. There was no home. There was only death and more death.

I was finished, I decided. I was going to leave the Hanto. I quickly gathered up the ghouls who were loyal to me and told them that I was leaving. Very few of them stayed behind. I took my people and approached Saika. I told her what I told them and she more than gladly offered her support. She gathered up whatever ghouls were loyal to her and we both approached Juuto.

We told him that we were leaving the group and the ward. He called us cowards and traitors to our kind. I told him that he was insane. Words were heated. Actions ignited. A bona fide civil war broke out among the Hanto. It was over in a matter of minutes. In the end, Juuto was killed. Anyone that was still alive and loyal to the Hanto had fled. Several of our people were also dead, but Saika and I were alive. We regrouped. We left. That was the end of the Hanto.

I remember a lot of killing when we arrived in the 9th Ward a decade ago. We had to deal with the native ghouls there. Carving out a new home for yourself is not an easy thing to do, at least in the world that we came from. I also dealt with some certain troublesome humans there for fear that they would attract the police or worse the media.

Things calmed down by the end of that first year, though. We carved out our new home and brought a certain degree of order to the 9th Ward. We've taken on human guises. I, myself, work under the cover of an artist and painter living in a studio apartment. And that's my tale so far.

Description of kagune: Omo is a rarity among his kind as he has dual kagune, the sheer size of which leads to a great many of his combat victories:

  • Koukaku: Omo's koukaku kagune takes on the appearance of two giant, fleshy, and metallic wings, red with black veins spreading throughout it, which form from under both of his shoulder blades. Omo has strengthened and developed his kagune well enough to form his koukaku into a myriad of shapes. He mainly fashions his kagune into a pair of wings for defense or a pair of giant scalpel-like blades a few inches away from his hand for offence, with their "hilts" wrapped around his arms.

  • Bikaku: Omo's bikaku is a rather normal looking kagune of its type: a long, fleshy, muscular, red tail with black veins spreading throughout it. He has developed his bikaku to the point where he can easily regenerate it if it is damaged or destroyed during a battle. Omo has also reached the point where he can extend this kagune a great length at the cost of durability until he retracts it again.

Other weapons, powers, skills, or abilities: Omo keeps himself very strong so that he can more easily fight and move around with his heavy koukaku kagune. He also has a great deal of personal experience with hand to hand combat from his time training with the Hanto. Other than this, Omo also has an above average regenerative ability. Compared to other ghouls, Omo has a very poor sense of smell and hearing and largely depends on select subordinates when these things are needed.

Appearance and physical description: Click here. And click here. He stands at about 6'0" and has a slightly muscular build.

Mask description: In combat or when going out as a ghoul, Ryujin wears a mask that resembles the face of a dragon typically seen in Chinese celebratory and ritual dragon dances.

Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains Empty Re: Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains

Post by Fi Skirata Tue Jan 27, 2015 10:25 pm

Name: Aiko Kyoshi

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Alias and reason for alias(as given by the CCG): Due to her wolf mask and her territorial hunting habits, even by Ghoul standards, Aiko was given the alias Fenrir, after the Norse wolf.

Rank and reason for rank: Ranked B by the CCG and deemed a skilled combatant. Has fallen off their radar since and deemed inactive.

Personality: Maintains a friendly persona when in public, extensively using annoying "valley girl" lingo and displaying a veneer of stereotypicality. In reality, Aiko is bloodthirsty and relishes in the slaughter of humans and fellow ghouls alike, seeking to become more powerful at any cost as well as seeing violence as the only truly enjoyable thing in life. When operating as a ghoul, she drops the stereotypical linguistics and speaks in a cold, detached tone, though she can become more excited when killing. While she has many human "friends" they are only a part of her cover, and she despises each and every one of them and is a loner at heart, seeing people as a burden that only holds her back. Completely convinced of her own power, she is best described as conceited. Extremely territorial, and constantly pushing the boundaries of that territory. Obsessed with music, and prone to psychological meltdown when deprived of her headphones.

Background Information: Born in the 13th Ward, Aiko's mother supposedly died due to complications with childbirth and Aiko was left to be raised by her negligent father. At a young age, her father stopped hunting for her, forcing her to kill and acquire her own meals. Aiko was also forced to teach herself to hunt, live among humans, and to educate herself. She adopted the happy, cheery persona of a young girl in public, and let herself go when alone as a Ghoul. For her own amusement, Aiko briefly took to harrassing the CCG, attacking and toying with them, and it was due to her actions that the CCG were able to follow her to a ghoul restaurant, eliminating the Ghouls there, including her father (Mr. Kyoshi's Kagune was later used to create the Quinque: Diamond Dust). Aiko was able to escape the CCG and fled to the 9th Ward where she took up residence and begun work at a local record shop, as well as began attending a drama club. Aiko maintains her stereotypical human life with none the wiser, but her bloodlust has recently led to her hunting more and more as a form of release and she has even begun hunting beyond her territory, resulting in conflicts with other non-group affiliated Ghouls.

Description of kagune: Aiko has a single kagune:

  • Ukaku: Aiko's Ukaku Kagune extends from her upper body down around her legs, taking the form of a red plumage. Aiko can use her Kagune with inhuman speed to defend herself from attack and to crush the opponent with haste. When lashing out with her Kagune, projectile shockwaves may be formed. As with all Kagune of this type, Aiko possesses little in the way of stamina, but can win a decisive victory quickly.

Other weapons, powers, skills, or abilities: Aiko is a lithe and flexible hand-to-hand combatant, and even practices Capoeira and various forms of dance in her spare time to keep herself fit. Also a talented musician with a multitude of instruments.

Any chance the Ghouls can go ahead and get started while we wait on the rest of the CCG signups?

I am currently working on it. People have been distracting the FUCK out of me this weekend.

Thanks, I had to edit the image myself. It's from Tokyo's 9th Ward's (Shinagawa) flag.

Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains Empty Re: Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains

Post by Fi Skirata Sun Apr 19, 2015 12:30 am

Name: Fuko Koibito

Age: 26

Gender: Male

Rank: Rank 2 Ghoul Investigator

Personality: A very stressed and hard-working member of the CCG. On his days off, Fuko frequents bars and various clubs around Tokyo in hopes to go pick up a girl with similar interests. He has a passion for cinema and will frequently talk about movies when there is nothing important going on. He treats every woman he comes across with as much respect as possible, often going out of his way to help them with menial task. He has recently developed a chain-smoking habit.

Background Information: From the Ryukyu Islands, Fuko moved Tokyo to pursue a career path he imagined would end with him being a big city detective. Instead, he found himself recruited into the CCG by a man known as Wei. Wei became his partner. More than that. A mentor. A brother. It was Wei that taught Fuko the ropes of being a Dove, and how to fight Ghouls. The two worked in tandem for five full years before it happened.

Wei died at the hands of a Ghoul. One of his last actions had been to call Fuko. If only the young agent had answered. Fuko arrived on the scene only moments too late, forced to see his mentor, his partner, being devoured by one of those monsters. He ended Wei's murderer's life himself, with Wei's quinque. For a moment, he almost felt like the thing he killed had feeling just like him.

To this day Fuko visits his late partner's grave, and once in a while he even checks in on Wei's widow, Sung-Yi. Fuko was recently transferred to Kaku's investigation team, to be partnered with a newer CCG agent.

Description of quinque:

  • Diamond Dust: An Ukaku (Wing) type. Manifests as a black rifle, with many red crystals extending from the body. It fires in select fire between semi auto, full auto, and scattershot modes. It can be reloaded via Rc Cells, though the process cannot be performed in the field. This quinque was forged and sat in storage for an extended period of time. No one remembers the name of the Ghoul it came from.

Other weapons and skills: In order to wield his Quinque with accuracy and speed, Fuko practices his gunplay and marksmanship regularly. Rank 2 Fuko Koibito carries with him at all times a loaded Beretta 92 under his suit jacket along with five extra magazines of Q-bullets. Fuko is a gifted sniper, and fancies himself a ladies' man.

Appearance and physical description:
Click.

Koibito wears, like all ghoul investigators, a suit and tie, and, when on duty, a white overcoat.

Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains Empty Re: Tokyo Ghoul: Hunger Pains

Post by Mr. Fountain Mon Jun 22, 2015 11:42 pm

Name: Natsuki "Suki" Warutsuki

Age: 19

Gender: Female

Rank: Rank 3 Ghoul Investigator

Personality: While in public, Suki wears a generally apathetic face and seems to be emotionally detached from the situation around her. While being interviewed after what happened to her family, it was noted that the Yakuza boss's granddaughter didn't shed a tear during the whole ordeal and her voice rarely, if ever, wavered. Behind closed doors, however, Suki allows herself to feel a great range of emotion and suffers from night terrors mainly concerning what happened in her childhood or variations of it. She has an almost obsessive desire to kill the ghoul that destroyed her life, going so far as to get the same tattoos that the Warutsuki Family members wear in the hopes that the ghoul will recognize them, and her, when the time comes.

Background Information: Natsuki is the youngest child and only granddaughter of the former mob boss of Shinagawa, the so-called "Lord of Shinagawa," and the only survivor of the "First Yakuza-Ghoul Incident" in the 9th Ward. During this incident, almost all members of the Warutsuki Family were killed: her grandfather, Osamu Warutsuki, father, Kaname Warutsuki, two older and only brothers, Kazuya and Kenta Warutsuki, and uncle, Naoto Warutsuki. Natsuki's mother had died a few years earlier of natural causes. After the numerous interviews with the CCG, officials with the organization offered the then ten-year-old a place to live in the 1st Ward as well as a chance to join the CCG after graduating from the 1st Ward's CCG Junior Academy.

Natsuki accepted the offer and was immediately inducted into the Ghoul Investigator Training Academy after graduating early. She has recently graduated from the academy, also early, tying with another student for Valedictorian of their class, and been made a Rank 3 Ghoul Investigator (even though she graduated from the academy, she was only made a Rank 3 due to her age).

Due to her being a bit of a prodigy along with her background, she has been given and accepted a position in First Class Investigator Kaku Yamarachi's new squad and investigation.

Description of quinque: As a Rank 3, Investigator Warutsuki does not possess the qualifications to own a quinque.

Other weapons and skills: Even though she does not possess the requirements to own a quinque, she does wear two large nameless daggers made of quinque steel strapped to both of her ankles. She also carries with her at all times a Glock-18 with a hair trigger, extended magazine, and six extra clips of Q-bullets. She has practiced firing this weapon in a way that allows her to get the most bullets out of it in the shortest time that the weapon allows. She is strangely very knowledgeable on the current events in the underground world and how it operates even though she has been away from it for so long.

Appearance and physical description: Suki has black, shoulder-length hair and golden eyes, like several members of the Warutsuki Family. She has a small frame and tends to dress professionally. To hide her quinque daggers, she wears large, black, leather combat boots. Suki also has a series of intricate tattoos on her body. The largest of which features a red full moon on the back of her neck hanging over the remains of fallen soldiers on a battlefield that takes up all of her back.
