Emotional media
What's the most emotionally moving anime/movie/book/et cetera that you've ever experienced? It doesn't have to be sad, or uplifting, or anything in particular. Just the thing that messed with your emotions the most.

Re: Emotional media
My emotions have gone out of whack lately, and it seems I'll get all choked up over anything remotely sad nowadays.
That being said, in my former years as an angsty "I-hate-the-world" teen, only kinds of movies or TV that could make me sad would be anything where a main character lost their only friend in the world (e.g. Bridge to Terabithia, My Girl, E.T., etc.)

I don't even want to talk about Bridge to Terabithia. I saw it when it first came out and cried in the theatre.

"A tragic film covering a young boy and his little sister's struggle to survive in Japan during World War II." copied and pasted from IMDB.
It's made by Studio Ghibli.

Re: Emotional media
Thought of some more films that hit me in the feels...
A.I. Artificial Intelligence - poor David ;(
Requiem for a Dream - not something easily watched twice
Trainspotting - kind of like the above
The Boy in the Striped Pajamas - that ending haunts me forever.

Re: Emotional media
I read the book before I saw the movie, bawled my eyes out.
Even when I watched the movie and knew that ending was coming, I still couldn't handle it.
I'll admit, I also cried while reading The Fault in Our Stars (please don't shoot me).

Re: Emotional media
I'm glad I am not the only one. I really want to read Paper Towns before that comes out... (I don't understand all the John Green hate on the internet).
But alas, I'm currently reading Gone Girl and then The Girl on the Train after that.
