Re: Masada's Story Time Thread
>You land on the opposite end of the room, slamming into the splintered pieces of an old pew on the southwestern corner of the room.
The force from the robed skeleton's throw had sent you sliding along the floor and into the wall.
You're still trying to process what just happened.
Link
He begins to slowly walk towards you.
"Baes yene hevnıt, little one. What is hidden here is not for thee to take!."
Link
You try and stand back up. You're in quite a bit of pain and feel an immense itch in the arm you landed on.
>Uh, run back into the hallway, grab the other torch since you dropped your other one behind the skeleton, and attempt to fend off Skullface with it!
>If you are not at risk of losing a valuable item, attempt to light Skullface's robe on fire! Perhaps, the cloth is magically binding his bones together!
>Try to get behind the skeleton to grab the torch
>Use the torch as a weapon against the skeleton!
>You decide to take the bluntness of a torch over the sharpness of a sword in this situation.
You judge from how slowly he moves that running out into the hall for another torch is unnecessary, but you should probably avoid getting grabbed again.
You wait until the skeleton is closer to you than the torch...
Link
Then start running and dive to the opposite end of the room where the torch is, grab it, and quickly scramble back on your feet!
>Assert your dominance with a fierce war-cry.
>Scared as you are of skeletons and the sort, you feel Skullface here has quite overstayed his welcome and needs firm pelvis-kicking in the form of torch-to-face. You let out some sort of rebel yell and try to look as fearsome as possible.
"Get ready to burn, bonehead!"
Link
You feel witty. He looks unimpressed.

>Catch the skeleton's robes on fire
>Burn up, boner
>You feel your blood boil, and just want to cause this guy some pain.
You don't want this to end just yet. You decide to have a little fun before you... heat him up.
You start running at Bonehead, then jump into the air and ready your torch for a heavy swing.
Link
You slam the torch across Skull's face and it makes a satisfying *CRACK*.
Link
You easily knock most of his face off. You feel like you're on fire and that busting Bonehead is the only way to put it out.
On his knees now. You aren't thinking at all anymore, only that he's vulnerable and about to become a pile of dust.
You keep hammering away with the torch. Whatever wood it's made of is quite strong.
Link
>Laugh like mad as he burns
>Cry and run away.
>Your head is starting to hurt. Whatever that feeling was is apparently wearing off.
You shove the end of the torch into your handiwork and stare. You begin to chuckle slightly, eyes tearing up.
You aren't sure what that was. That's never happened before. You feel pretty exhausted.
Link
You try to remember what you were doing...

[switching art programs back to one I'm familiar with. Still trying to adjust.]
>Look at your hands
>Look at what you've done
>Think about how/why you went into that rage
>Yep, that exhausted you pretty hard, you plop down on the old pew behind you.
You cautiously stare at your shaking hands, then at the now burning pile of bones and dust you've created.
You're not exactly sure what that was. It was your first fight ever. You wonder if they're always like that.
You keep staring, finding a morbid sense of comfort in the flames.
Link
>Contemplate whether you were right in burning the skeleton or not.
>Well... judging from how he threw you around like that, it seemed he planned to kill you. You'd say you indeed feel justified.
At least, you hope it was justified.
You shake your head at the thought. Of course you were! This place must be getting to you already.
>What was in that pouch?
>Right! The pouch! Surely something important is in it.
You tear your eyes away from the flames dancing on Bonehead's bones over to the pouch that has landed nearby.
Link
You pick it up, undo is string keeping it closed and peer inside.
Link
It's... empty? Wait, no. You reach inside and feel nothing, but your hand keeps going.
You keep reaching in until you notice...
Link
It's much deeper than it looks. You think it may be magical. Also you finally feel something!
There are a few things inside: a metal flask, a strange glowing crystal, and... somehow unspoiled meat rations, two of which you immediately consume, leaving 3. Finally...
ACQUIRED: STRANGE CRYSTAL, FLASK, MEAT RATIONS
>Gather your belongings and attempt to open the other door in the hallway.
>You gather up your belongings, and tie the pouch around your sash. You remove the torch from Skullface's smoldering remains. Looks like it's gone out though.
You prepare to leave the room... unless there's something else in here you missed?

That candle went off to the side somewhere when we fought Bonerhard. I'm pretty sure it went out. Also, I don't think you can light a torch with a candle.

>You look the room over one last time. You had a hunch that the altar may have been a container of some sort, but upon examination, you notice it's carved out of the wall. Other than that, the room seems devoid of anything else of value.
>Try to relight the torch
>Maybe use the candle we lit earlier?
>The candle you lit is still lit and accounted for, sitting on the altar.
Your torch is out, so you decide it's better lit. You hold the torch out and it begins to catch.
Link
With your torch re-lit, you leave the small chapel and cross the hall to the old, wooden door.
Link
Looks like there's a lot of things in this room...
Link
You think it may have once been a storage. There's a rack with some old, rusty weapons, another small door on the far end that looks like the one from the opposite room. There are also some urns in the corner near a wooden box.

Re: Masada's Story Time Thread
[Sorry about the hiatus, was experimenting with other stuff.]
>See if those other weapons are usable
>You place your torch on the floor in the middle of the room to light it up as much as you can while you look around.
You first check the weapon rack. Looks like there's some more human-sized weapons propped in it.
The spear is a little warped and the axe is very dull, and both are covered in rust and dust. You're not sure if they're still usable; since you do not know anything about weapons. You decide to leave them be for now.
Link
> Look in the giant pot/vase.
>you move to the other end of the room to check the pile of junk and containers in the corner of the room.
Link
The wooden crate is empty, but the urns are full of black stuff. It's powdery and smells weird. You aren't sure what this is.
>Take a seat and contemplate what led us here
>You plop down in the chair in the corner and reminisce for a moment.
Link

Link
Yep! You remember why you're here, you should really get on that. That and getting out of here, hopefully.
